Rodgers wants to keep captain
LONDON: Brendan Rodgers has confirmed Liverpool have opened talks with Steven Gerrard over a new contract. Gerrard, the Liverpool and England captain, has 13 months left on his current deal but Rodgers has made it clear throughout this season that it was a question of 'when' rather than 'if' discussions would begin.
