China meat counterfeits

WE'VE all heard the idiom "Mutton dressed as lamb" to denote an older person trying to pass off as someone much younger. Well, for the moment in China, the phrase would have to be "Rat dressed as mutton". Except that, it really is a rat trying to pass off as mutton. In the last three months, police in China have arrested 904 people involved in this astounding meat scandal - Europe's horsemeat scandal shrinks in comparison. Authorities have seized 20,000 tonnes of illegal products in this meat-related crime, which involves toxic, diseased or fake meat.
