Setback for Saint-Etienne

PARIS: Saint-Etienne's hopes of securing a Champions League place were dealt a blow when they drew 0-0 at home to Bordeaux on Friday. Saint-Etienne's second straight draw left them fourth and one point behind third-place Lyon, who have played one game fewer and travel to Nancy today. Saint-Etienne top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who missed several chances in last weekend's 1-1 draw at local rival Lyon, went close in the first half and wasted a chance late on when he shot into the side-netting. Strike partner Brandao missed a good chance earlier when he placed his header straight at goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso. Leaders Paris Saint-Germain host Valenciennes today. - AP
