Floods in Rawang

RAWANG, Wed. - More than 1,000 people from at least seven villages evacuated their homes following floods caused by heavy rain here tonight. This was the worst flooding here in recent years. Worst affected was Kampung Kenanga where 50 houses were flood waters reached more than 1.2 metres. Other villages hit by the flooding were Kampung Sin Chun, Kampung Sri Terentang, Kampung Lee Kim Sai, Kampung Batu 16, Kampung Sri Rawang and Kampung Sungai Rawang. Police used a truck to evacuate about 150 pupils of the Sekolah Ugama Rendah Ibnu Khaldun when flood waters hit their hostel blocks after the rain began at 3.30pm.
