Businessman wins $4m Sabah lotto jackpot

KOTA KINABALU, Fri. - A businessman became a millionaire overnight when he won the Sabah Lotto Jackpot of more than $4.1 million in the draw last Saturday. The man, who is in his early 30s, is reported to be the first single winner of the highest prize money offered by any lottery or big sweep in Southeast Asia. He had placed a $70 bet, playing on system eight, and his first line of eight numbers tallied with the winning combination. Datuk Lee Shong Mai, executive director of the Sabah-based Lotteries Corporation which ran the jackpot draw, said the winner had requested anonymity.
