PM pays tribute to late star Sudirman

KUALA LUMPUR, Sun. - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad today described the late superstar Sudirman Haji Arshad (picture) as a "very well-known entertainer who enhanced the country's image in the music world". Dr Mahathir was asked to comment on the singer's death after launching Mara's Limora Travel Services Sdn Bhd at Merdeka Square here. Sudirman, 37, died from pneumonia at his sister's home in Lorong Taban Satu, Bangsar, here yesterday morning.
