The charmed life of snake king Ali Khan

SNAKE-CHARMER Ali Khan Shamsuddin, 33, almost lost his right eye when his 3m-long king cobra struck him while performing a show in front of a large crowd at the Sungai Batu Pahat Complex near Kangar earlier this month. He sustained a scratch on his right eyelid and a few drops of blood trickled out. Showing the drops of blood to the spellbound spectators, he said: "Some people think I perform with snakes that have had their fangs removed but see for yourself." He showed the two large fangs of the king cobra to the crowd. He immediately applied his own medication, and continued the show undeterred and undaunted by the bite.
