Penny Chang gets one day's jail and $80,000 fine
KUALA LUMPUR, Mon. - The Sessions Court today sentenced former executive director of Supreme Finance (M) Berhad Penny Chang Siang Pin to one day's jail for criminal breach of trust in respect of shares worth $500,000. Sessions judge Datuk Haji Abdul Malik Haji Ishak also fined Chang, 43, $80,000 or another eight months' jail. Chang paid the fine. However, Datuk Haji Abdul Malik dismissed an application by Deputy Public Prosecutor Josephine Sivaretnam for costs of prosecution. Chang, who was accompained by her husband, Mr Tan Koon Swan, cried when sentenced was passed and Mr Tan consoled her.
