Grand reunion of Penang Old Frees

It was the biggest gathering of old and present Frees as more than 1,800 turned up at the Jamuan Perdana held at the school grounds to mark the 175th anniversary of the Penang Free School. The guests of honour included the Yang di-Pertua Negeri, Tun Dr Haji Hamdan Sheikh Tahir and his consort, the Raja of Perlis and the Raja Perempuan of Perlis, Chief Minister Dr Koh Tsu Koon and former Chief Minister Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu. The Class of 1953 had a touching reunion.
