Talk back

In an interview in the `New Sunday Times' yesterday, British food blogger Rhys Williams, of `Mat Salleh Cari Makan' fame, said he took offence at claims that Bahasa Malaysia is a "useless language". The Londoner, who speaks fluent Bahasa Malaysia, says there are no useless languages, especially when the language in question is the national language. He said that while one can get by with using only English in Malaysia, by using Bahasa Malaysia, he not only puts locals at ease, but also gets to know the people better. What do you think?
