Kuala Lumpur top of the pile

HOCKEY: Kuala Lumpur were crowned the new Under-18 Malaysian Schools Sports Council (MSSM) champions when they beat Terengganu 4-1 at the Bukit Serindit Stadium in Malacca yesterday. In the Girls Under-18, Selangor snatched the crown from defending champions Perak with a golden goal after the match was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation time. In the Under-12 girls, the surprise package were Sabah who edged Perak 3-2 for the title while Perak beat Kelantan 2-0 for the boys' crown.
