Mute woman reunites with long-lost family
New Delhi: A mute and deaf Indian woman, who strayed into Pakistan more than a decade ago, returned to India yesterday to reunite with the people she believes are her family. The woman, known as Geeta, smiled as she received bouquets from officials after landing here, escorted by charity workers. "We are elated to meet her. We thank both countries for their efforts to unite Geeta with her family," said Vinod Kumar, who said he was her brother. Geeta was 11 or 12 when she crossed to Pakistan and was stuck there after being unable to identify herself or say where she was from. Agencies
