Fire disrupts Notion Vtec's Klang ops

KUALA LUMPUR: Notion Vtec Bhd, a metal processing company that develops and designs high precision cutting tools, said there is a temporary loss of production capacity at one of its subsidiaries as a result of a fire incident on New Year's Eve. The fire, which occurred at a rear building of its main manufacturing plant in Klang, has affected its wholly-owned units Kaiten Precision (M) Sdn Bhd and Notion Venture Sdn Bhd (NVSB). "There is a temporary loss of capacity of about 90 per cent for Kaiten, which contributes about 10 per cent of the group's revenue, and some disruptions to certain operations of NVSB," said the company.
