Cooking oil quota for Sarawak raised

KUCHING: The cooking oil monthly quota for Sarawak has been increased by 1,000 tonnes to 4,000 tonnes from July to September in anticipation of higher demand during Ramadan and for Aidilfitri, said the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry. Its state director, Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman, said yesterday the average monthly consumption was about 3,000 tonnes. "We have been assured by the eight repackagers in the state that the quota should be sufficient to meet consumers' needs during the period." Bernama
