Khairy wins appeal in RM100m Anwar suit
KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin yesterday succeeded in setting aside the judgment in default obtained by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim against him in a RM100 million suit brought by the opposition leader. High Court judge Datin Zabariah Mohd Yusof yesterday allowed Khairy's appeal against the judgment after meeting counsel for both parties in chambers. Khairy's counsel Datuk Seri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah said the judge allowed Khairy's appeal on grounds that the service of the writ of summons was irregular. "The writ should have been sent either personally to Khairy or via A.R. registered mail to his last known house address and not to his office or other places."
