Terms of trade rises to 118.4 points
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s terms of trade expanded 0.6 per cent month-on-month to 118.4 points in January 2025, said the Statistics Department. It said the increase was driven by the index of animal and vegetable oils and fats (five per cent), food (1.2 per cent) and chemicals (1.1 per cent). Meanwhile, Malaysia’s terms of trade climbed 3.4 per cent year-on-year from 114.5 points in January in the previous year. “Malaysia’s export prices in January edged up by 0.3 per cent to 151.2 points, while import prices fell 0.2 per cent to 127.7 points.”
