No risk of sinkholes in Klang, says minister

THERE are no natural risks of sinkholes in Klang, Selangor, as the area is not underlain by limestone, the Dewan Rakyat was told yesterday. Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi said the ground in Klang was made up of marine clay rather than limestone. He said sinkholes in Klang were typically caused by non-natural factors, including pipe leaks, drainage system issues and localised embankment structure failures. Nanta was responding to a question from V. Ganabatirau (PH-Klang) on plans to prevent sinkholes in Klang.
