49 per cent of Mara borrowers blacklisted

A TOTAL of 97,866 out of 197,348 active loan borrowers or 49 per cent of them have been blacklisted by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) for failing to make loan repayments. Deputy Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang said the blacklisting was implemented by Mara to strengthen the loan repayment process. “The blacklist is only applicable within Mara’s management and does not involve other agencies or ecosystems,” she said during the Minister’s Question Time in Dewan Rakyat yesterday.
