Rehda welcomes deposit initiative

KUALA LUMPUR: The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (Rehda) has suggested that the Housing and Local Government Ministry’s 2025 Budget proposals for the Madani deposit and a scheme akin to the developers interest bearing scheme be applied only to price-controlled affordable housing. Its president, Datuk Ho Hon Sang, said the Madani deposit would greatly assist more Malaysians in owning homes. “More often than not, the 10 per cent deposit has been a huge barrier,” he added.
