IHI-Gentari to set up green ammonia system

KUALA LUMPUR: Japanese-based IHI Corp, and Gentari Hydrogen Sdn Bhd, a unit of Petronas’ clean energy arm Gentari Sdn Bhd, will work together to set up a system that makes, moves, stores and uses eco-friendly ammonia globally. Under this memorandum of understanding, IHI and Gentari will jointly explore the establishment of a global green ammonia value chain. In a statement yesterday, it said the parties would also explore progressing the commercial utilisation of IM270, developed by IHI with support from Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organisation.
