Abu Tariq appointed LHDN CEO
KUALA LUMPUR: The Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) has appointed Datuk Abu Tariq Jamaluddin, who was previously deputy chief executive officer (compliance), as the new chief executive officer effective Sunday. He replaces Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Nizom Sairi, whose service contract expired on Dec 16, 2023. Nizom, 61, served for 38 years at LHDN and delivered the biggest direct tax collection in history in 2022. A total of RM175.4 billion was collected, under Nizom’s direction.
