Desa Kilat in deal with Tenaga

DESA Kilat Sdn Bhd, a 54 per cent-owned subsidiary of Malakoff Bhd has signed a site acquisition agreement with Tenaga Nasional Janamanjung Sdn Bhd, in relation to the proposed purchase of 324ha of reclaimed lands in the Lekir Island project for a contract price of RM165 million. The land is to be used as the site for Tenaga's proposed 2100MW coal- fired power plant, which is to be built, owned and operated by Tenaga Janamanjung. Desa Kilat has also signed a site acquisition agreement with Lekir Bulk Terminal Sdn Bhd, a 51 per cent-owned by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Perak and Halim Rasip Holdings Sdn Bhd, the promoter for the Lekir Island project.
