Polling on Nov 29 (HL)

THE Election Commission has fixed November 29 as the polling day nationwide, making it the first time in the country's history that the general elections are conducted in a single day for all states in Malaysia. Nomination day for the 10th general elections since Independence is November 20, Election Commission chairman Datuk Omar Mohd Hashim said, adding that the election writ will be issued today and the election notice gazetted on Monday. Campaigning starts after that, giving the contestants eight days to woo support.
