Dialysis centre for Kuching

A NEW charity dialysis centre will be set up in Kuching next year to cater for poor kidney patients, said Malaysia Assurance Alliance (MAA)-Medicare Sdn Bhd Director Tunku Ya'acob Tunku Abdullah. It will intially be equipped with six dialysis machines and was expected to be operational by April 1998. The centre will be the country's fourth MAA-Medicare Charity Dialysis Centre, a non-profit facility. "To date, we have established three such dialysis centres in Kuala Lumpur, Teluk Intan and Butterworth benefiting some 120 kidney patients," he said.
