Anuar dies

UMNO veteran Tan Sri Anuar Abdul Malik (pic) died at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru at 7.50pm on Saturday. He was 100. Anuar, a founder member of Umno, leaves a wife Saodah Abdullah, 78, six children and 18 grandchildren. Among those who paid their last respects was the Prime Minister's son, Encik Mokhzani Mahathir. The late Anuar's granddaughter Mastissa Mohamed is married to Mokhzani. Johor state assembly speaker Datuk Ali Hassan and member of Parliament for Johor Baru, Encik Khalid Nordin, also paid their last respects at Anuar's residence. - Bernama
