`MetroVision not prepared'

MALAYSIA's second private television channel, MetroVision, has been allowed to broadcast nationwide this year, Deputy Information Minister Datuk Suleiman Mohamed said yesterday. However, MetroVision is not prepared for the move since the revenues it obtains from advertisements has dropped due to the economic downturn, he said in reply to Senator Dr Yeow Seng Huat. To a question by Senator Datuk Ghazi alias Hasbullah Ramli, he said there are private television stations which have failed to adhere to the regulations stipulated in their permits. He said one such station has been issued a warning for flouting these regulations. - Bernama
