Call for wider compensation law

KUALA LUMPUR: The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM) called for the widening of the powers of the Land Acquisition Act to include compensation for property owners whose property values are negatively affected by nearby public infrastructure projects. “The Land Acquisition Act only compensates those whose property are totally or partially acquired. We call for a review of the laws to enable compensation to be given to all parties impacted by public infrastructure projects.”
