HLISB, Suri team up to help single mums

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Islamic Bank (HLISB) has partnered with SURI Lifestyle to empower single mothers from poor households with sustainable income. Suri is a social enterprise that focuses on empowering the underprivileged by them providing with financial opportunities and sewing training. The initiative is funded by a RM77,600 injection from HLISB through Lembaga Zakat Selangor’s Zakat Wakalah fund. This collaboration sees HLISB and SURI upskilling 20 single mothers with three months of sewing and product development training.
