TM names new chairman, group CEO

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has appointed Datuk Zainal Abidin Putih as chairman and Amar Huzaimi Md Deris as managing director and group chief executive officer (CEO), effective Aug 1. Amar succeeds Datuk Imri Mokhtar, who will complete his three-year term on July 31, while Zainal succeeds Tan Sri Azlan Hashim, who will complete his two-year term on July 31. Amar began his career with TM after graduating in 1998. Zainal Abidin, on the other hand, is currently the chairman of Financial Reporting Foundation, among others.
