Osman Aroff not resigning

FORMER Kedah Menteri Besar Tan Sri Osman Aroff said in Jitra yesterday he has no intention to resign as the assemblyman for Jitra. "I don't have any intention to resign. I don't know how the rumour came about," he said at the opening of an extension building of Sekolah Rendah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Chung Hwa here by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Recent news reports had speculated on the possibility of Osman vacating the Jitra seat. Osman, who stepped down as Menteri Besar in June and was succeeded by Datuk Seri Sanusi Junid, is still chairman of the state Umno committee and deputy head of the Kubang Pasu Umno division. - Bernama
