Eusoff is Chief Justice

SUPREME Court judge Tan Sri Mohamed Eusoff Chin has been appointed the new Chief Justice of Malaya, succeeding Tan Sri Gunn Chit Tuan who retired recently. Two High Court judges Datuk Lamin Mohamed Yunus and Datuk Chong Siew Fai were appointed Supreme Court judges. They received their appointment letters from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Ja'afar in a ceremony at Istana Negara yesterday. Present were the Lord President Tun Abdul Hamid Omar, Chief Justice of Borneo Tan Sri Mohamed Jemuri Serjan and the Supreme Court Chief Registrar Datuk Abdul Kadir Musa. Born in Batu Gajah, Perak, Eusoff, 58, began his career in the legal service in 1959 as a magistrate in Penang. - Bernama
