Screen legend's humble role

"WHAT is a Melayu? To me, it is a way of thinking. You can be a Malay by birth but if you are Westernised in your way of living and thinking, then you are more a Westerner than a Malay," says Slamet Rahardjo Djarot when asked whether a movie on a Malay legend, produced and starred by a predominantly Malay cast, should be directed by a non-Malay.
