Fans and peers mourn the death of Sudirman

KUALA LUMPUR, Sat. - Fans, contemporaries and peers today mourned the death of superstar Sudirman Haji Arshad. In an extraordinary career as a singer, lawyer, businessman, writer and top entertainer that spanned 16 years, Sudirman pioneered new standards in showmanship, but it was his glitzy style and easy-going nature that endeared him to his fans. Sudirman, 37, passed away at 4am from pneumonia at his sister's home in Lorong Taban Satu, Bangsar. The body, accompanied by family members, was taken at 11.15am in a Felda hearse to his childhood home in Kampung Bukit Tok Embun, Temerloh, and was laid to rest in the afternoon at the Kampung Chengal Muslim cemetery, beside his mother's grave.…
