New role for Filem Negara

PETALING JAYA, Sat. - A study being conducted by the Information Ministry may result in the privatisation of Filem Negara by the end of the Sixth Malaysia Plan, Information Minister Datuk Mohamed Rahmat said today. This would mean the transformation of Filem Negara from a Government department which only produces documentaries, campaign trailers and feature films for the Government to a Government company directly involved in the film industry, he said.
