‘Govt won’t reveal Tabung Harapan donors’

THE government will not reveal Tabung Harapan Malaysia donors, the Dewan Rakyat was told yesterday. Deputy Finance Minister I Datuk Abdul Rahim Bakri said identities of donors to the fund, which was started by the previous Pakatan Harapan administration, were protected under the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and Banking and Financial Institutions Act 1989. He said the fund’s balance stood at RM205,491,219.36 up to Dec 1 and the fund had been used to pay 1Malaysia Development Bhd debts.
