Bills on IPCMC, PM term limit withdrawn

THE government yesterday withdrew two proposed bills introduced under the previous Pakatan Harapan government in the Dewan Rakyat. The first is the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) Bill to probe allegations of police misconduct. The second is the Constitution (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill 2019 to set a two-term limit for the prime minister position. The Perikatan Nasional government had said it would pull the IPCMC bill in March, but the withdrawal of the second bill came unannounced.
