Garbage lorry driver hurt as car rams into vehicle

GEORGE TOWN: A garbage lorrydriver sustained serious injuries when he was hit by a car in Jalan Anson here yesterday. In the 6.40am incident, Mukhtar Bahari, 62, was believed to have been clearing rubbish at the back of a rubbish truck that was parked by the roadside when a red Perodua car heading towards Jalan Macalister went out of control and rammed into the truck. The driver was reportedly pinned between the vehicles and sustained serious injuries to the left side of the body. He was sent to Penang Hospital for treatment.
