Number of dengue cases in Sabah surges by 61pc

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah recorded 4,629 dengue cases, including 22 deaths, this year, said state Health and People’s Wellbeing Minister Datuk Frankie Poon. “The number of cases increased by 1,753, or 61 per cent, compared with the same period last year. The number of deaths related to dengue is the same as last year,” he said yesterday, adding that Sandakan had the most number of cases at 1,144, followed by Kota Kinabalu (722), Tawau (698), Lahad Datu (591) and Semporna (276).
