Aromatics complex to be built

AROMATICS Malaysia Sdn Bhd, a 50:50 joint venture between Petronas and Mitsubishi Corporation, yesterday awarded a contract to a consortium led by Toyo Engineering Corporation of Japan for the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of its aromatics complex, Petronas announced in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. It said in a statement that the aromatics complex in Kertih, Terengganu, adjacent to its refinery operated by Petronas Penapisan (Terengganu) Sdn Bhd, is scheduled to be operational by the fourth quarter of 1999. - Bernama
